In between the middle and outer lanes, on both sides, are large buildings whose overpass holds a **rune** ((AKA Powerups, Bridge Buffs)). These runes grant positive attributes for ''160'' seconds; the attributes granted depend on the type of rune collected. The attributes scale over time, from ''10'' minutes to ''40'' minutes. They first spawn at the ''10'' minute mark and respawn every ''5'' minutes and are randomly selected. To collect a rune, [[universaltech:heavymelee|Heavy Melee]] the crystal structure.

===== Rune Types =====

There are currently four runes; __Movement__, __Casting__, __Gun__ and __Vitality__. They all grant differing attributes based off their name.

  * The <rune_movement> __Movement Rune__ grants the following attributes:
    * ''+1'' to ''+4'' [[universaltech:stamina|Stamina]] Bars,
    * ''+2'' to ''+4'' [[universaltech:walking/sprinting#sprinting|Sprint]] Speed,
    * ''+20%'' to ''+50%'' Stamina Recovery((The rate at which Stamina recovers)),
    * A ''+40%'' to ''+80%'' [[universaltech:transit_lines|Zipline]] Boost.
      * This rune is the most important rune for movement as it directly buffs aspects relating to movement. The extra stamina allows more movement in less time, and allows you to play more aggressively. These buffs also indirectly buff various movement techniques; the ''+40%'' to ''+80%'' [[universaltech:transit_lines|Zipline Boost]] benefits [[universaltech:ziplinemomentumconservation|ZMC]] and [[universaltech:transit_lines|Transit Line]] movement.
  
  * The <rune_spirit> __Casting Rune__ grants the following attributes:
    * ''+20'' to ''+40'' <spirit> Spirit Power,
    * ''+15%'' to ''+25%'' Cooldown Reduction.
      * This rune can benefit characters that have <spirit> Spirit scaling on their movement attributes (e.g. <grey_talon_mm> [[hero:grey_talon|Grey Talon]]'s [[universaltech:walking:sprinting|move speed]] scales with <spirit> Spirit, therefore gains extra move speed when collecting this rune)
      * It can also benefit characters that have movement abilities; the ''+15%'' to ''+25%'' Cooldown reduction can allow you to execute them more frequently.

  * The <rune_gun> __Gun Rune__ grants the following attributes:
    * A ''+10%'' to ''30%'' increase in Fire Rate,
    * ''+30%'' to ''+60%'' more ammunition.
      * The Gun Rune benefits <shiv_mm> [[hero:shiv|Shiv]] and his M2 movement by allowing him to use M2 more frequently. 

  * The <rune_survival> Survival Rune grants the following attributes:
    * ''+250'' to ''+700'' more health,
    * ''+1%'' to ''1.5%'' Max Health Regeneration.
      * This rune is not particularly useful for movement.
